Anwar Ibrahim had his glorious days as Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia (1993 - 1998) under the then PM, Dr Mahathir Mohamed. In September 1998 he was removed from the Cabinet and was under investigation. Since then life has been a turbulent roller-coaster culminating in his imprisonment. He was the man behind the "Reformasi" movement which led to the formation of a new political party, Parti Keadilan Nasional.

After his years of peaceful struggle, he saw victory at the end of the tunnel and Anwar was sworn-in as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister on 24 November 2022.

This is a historical biography about the journey of my grandparents, who migrated to the rubber plantations in British Malaya from their home in Malabar (then British India).

 

As history unfolds ...Konda left his home in Edapal, and Parvathy walked with her brother to catch the bus at Thallaserry; both did not expect that to be their final journey out of Malabar ... never to see their siblings, momma, papa, sweetheart or their pet dog ever again!
